In Emercury, each contact record contains both an Added Date and an Updated Date. These timestamps serve different purposes and help you track changes to your contact data over time.

What is the "Added Date"?

The Added Date indicates the exact time a contact was added to the list. This does not change over time, regardless of any activity or updates that occur after.

Example: If a contact was added during an import at 7:43 AM, the Added Date will show that timestamp.

What is the "Updated Date"?

The Updated Date reflects the most recent change or activity involving that contact. For example, an email was sent to the contact.

Understanding the difference between these two timestamps is useful for:

  • List management and hygiene — Know when contacts were added vs. when they were last engaged or modified.

  • Segmentation — Create filters based on recent activity using the Updated Date.
